Are you a strategic technical leader with a passion for delivering complex engineering projects that exceed expectations? BEUMER Group Australia is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to take full ownership of our baggage handling systems from concept through to commissioning. This role is critical to ensuring system performance, integration, and customer satisfaction across large-scale infrastructure projects. 

What You'll Be Doing

As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead the technical delivery of integrated baggage handling systems, ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking full technical ownership of complex projects from design to delivery.
  • Defining system architecture in line with customer requirements and global standards.
  • Leading design reviews, validation gates, and system integration efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Project Managers (commercial) and Software Project Managers to ensure alignment across disciplines.
  • Coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering teams (software, mechanical, electrical).
  • Manage technical risks, change requests, and interface challenges.
  • Supporting commercial teams with technical insights and documentation.
  • Oversee on-site testing, commissioning, and customer handover activities.

Success in this role means delivering validated systems on time and within budget, with minimal defects and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
  • 6–10 years in engineering or system integration roles
  • 4+ years leading cross-functional technical teams
  • Strong international project delivery experience
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification
  • Experience with conveyors, automation, or sorting systems is highly desirable.
