About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Executive Manager – Community, Library and Recreation Venues within the Community, Culture and Customer Experience Directorate.
This pivotal role is responsible for the ongoing management, development, and activation of our key community venues – ensuring high quality, inclusive services delivered across multiple sites, including the Waverley Library, Bondi Pavilion, Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre, Boot Factory and other Community hireable venues and sporting facilities to enrich the lives of our residents.
As a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset you'll lead a large community facing team providing outstanding customer service. As we expand to include new venues in the future we are looking for someone with great commercial acumen and an ability to innovate.
The role will require you to:
- Lead the management and continuous improvement of community, library, and recreational venues
- Develop and operate budgets with a focus on revenue opportunities and business development.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality services and programs that meet diverse community needs
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise venue usage and community engagement
Essential criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with significant senior management experience leading the effective management of community and cultural venues.
- Class C Drivers License
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of performing arts, festivals and large-scale event delivery.
- Understanding of facilities and property management.
- Understanding of recreational facilities and provision of community amenities.
- Understanding of public libraries and delivery of community-focused services and programming.
