Sports Program Officer

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in NSW communities? We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Sports Program Officer.

This role will provide high-level coordination, research, and support services to the Sport and Recreation team. You will contribute to achieving the organisation's objectives and strategies through community and stakeholder engagement, venue management, revenue generation, and product development support.

This is an excellent chance to be part of a dedicated, flexible, and dynamic team that is working together to position Greater Sydney Parklands as leaders in park, venue, and precinct facilities and management, providers of quality leisure facilities, events, and natural and cultural heritage.

  • You will have high-level communication and customer service skills to provide high-quality customer service and information to the general public and hirers regarding recreation and sporting opportunities.
  • You will assist in the development, review, and communication of relevant information material, product, and resources to sport and recreation-related stakeholders.
  • You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, capable of negotiating positive outcomes and building support for the implementation of products.
  • You will provide support for seasonal and casual bookings administration, including managing payments and undertaking financial management procedures as required for users of sport and recreation facilities.
  • You will monitor the use of equipment and facilities, identify and report on maintenance requirements, and implement remedial action as required, to ensure that risks are adequately managed.
  • You will undertake research, analysis, and report on developing trends within the sport industry and contribute to decision-making, goal setting, and planning to identify opportunities that increase the use of community sports and recreation facilities.
  • You will maintain administration systems and relevant databases in relation to regular sporting user groups, facility allocation, membership, and contact details to ensure accurate record keeping.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in office administration, financial administration, and records management systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles.
