We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team in Homebush. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role plays a key part in managing the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all supplier payments and reconciliations.

About the Role:

As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for processing high-volume creditor invoices, managing payment runs, reconciling supplier accounts, and providing support for both month-end and year-end reporting. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate financial records, and support process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, coding, and approvals.
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs in line with company policies.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Provide accurate AP reports, reconciliations, and cashflow forecasts for month-end and year-end.
  • Maintain supplier master data and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Respond to supplier and internal queries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits, as well as process improvement projects.
  • Provide guidance and training to the Accounts Payable Officer within the team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable, ideally in a large organisation with high transaction volumes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial record management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (JDE experience desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
