ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a key opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join a collaborative finance function in a hands-on role spanning multiple entities on a six month contract.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the wider team, you will be responsible for month-end close, management reporting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, rebate processing, and supporting external audit processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries, GR/IR clearing, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process payroll accurately and on time across various group entities
  • Assist with accurate rebate recognition and customer invoicing in collaboration with AR
  • Work with external auditors during half-year and year-end audit processes
  • Ensure timely bank reconciliations to support working capital and cashflow planning
  • Maintain accuracy in financial records across Australian, US, and China entities within SAP
  • Partner with internal teams across supply chain, sales, and marketing for end-to-end financial insight
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives across reporting and compliance

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, or commerce
  • 7+ years' experience in a commercial finance or accounting role, ideally within a large or listed business
  • Previous experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics 365)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort building templates or automation tools
  • Clear communicator who can explain finance concepts to non-financial stakeholders
  • Team-oriented, solutions-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
