The Organisation
Proudly serving Australians since 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides emergency aeromedical and allied health services for people in rural and remote Australia. We strive towards improving the health and wellbeing of our rural communities and believe in creating opportunities, so all Victorians have the choice to access essential primary health care services.
About the Role
The Gift in Will Coordinator builds and maintains relationships with individuals considering a bequest to RFDS Victoria, offering personalised support throughout the process. The role focuses on donor stewardship through direct communication and ensures accurate record-keeping and administrative support.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Guide individuals through the full bequest journey-from first enquiry to confirmed commitment-with empathy and care.
Provide clear, timely information and compassionate support to help donors make informed decisions.
Deliver thoughtful stewardship through regular touchpoints like thank-you calls, birthday messages, and personalised updates.
Support the Philanthropy team with admin tasks, including reporting, event logistics, and CRM management.
Keep supporter records accurate and up to date to enable effective engagement and estate planning.
Proactively follow up on leads to identify, engage, and convert potential bequest donors.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen the bequest pipeline and supporter experience.
Coordinate and attend donor meetings and events, with a focus on regional outreach and community connection.
Cultivate meaningful relationships with current and potential Gift in Will supporters through calls, meetings, written communication, and events.
To be successful, you will need:
A proactive and self-driven approach, with the confidence to work independently, identify priorities, and take initiative to move tasks and projects forward with minimal supervision.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects or activities simultaneously planning effectively, setting achievable deadlines, allocating resources, and tracking progress to ensure timely delivery.
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt messaging to suit different audiences and build positive, respectful working relationships.
An understanding of charitable giving structures, including wills and bequests (preferred but not essential).
Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Drivers' Licence, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
