About the role - Staying on Track
Anglicare Southern Queensland is proud to deliver the new Staying on Track Program in a number of regions including, Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich / Inala and Toowoomba. The Staying on Track Programs are part of the Queensland Government's Making Queensland Safe plan funded by the Qld Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support.
The purpose of the Staying On Track (SoT) program is to improve community safety and reduce reoffending by bridging the transition to the community when young people are released from detention to help youth offenders turn their lives away from crime. Anglicare works in partnership with the Department of Youth Justice to ensure every young person will have a plan tailored to meet the assessed risks, needs and level of response required and focus on reducing the risk of reoffending by supporting them to prepare for a productive future in employment and community life.
This role involves active outreach across the community, the courts, detention centres, and watchhouses.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Coordinator, Youth Justice to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in Ipswitch.
The Coordinator, Youth Justice plays a critical leadership role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of youth justice programs that support young people aged 10-17 who display offending behaviours. You will lead a team of Practitioners and Mentors, ensuring quality service delivery, risk management, and consistency in therapeutic practice. This role supports Anglicare's mission by promoting positive, measurable outcomes for young people and the broader community, in line with contractual and organisational requirements.

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Mentors, and Practitioners to deliver best-practice, client-focused services.
- Manage team operations, including supervision, staff development, recruitment, induction, and rostering.
- Oversee referrals from Youth Justice and allocate to appropriate staff.
- Provide guidance in implementing support plans and matching Mentors based on young people's needs.
- Promote and maintain a culturally safe, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Ensure all legislative, regulatory, and contractual standards are met, including audits and critical incident reviews.
- Monitor and manage program brokerage funds to ensure effective resource allocation.
- Coordinate and participate in case planning and review meetings with stakeholders including Youth Justice, Child Safety, and community organisations.
- Ensure effective communication across the team and with stakeholders.
- Provide direct client support as required, ensuring practice aligns with professional registration and compliance obligations.
- Promote health, safety, and well-being in all operational practices, including WHS requirements.
- Undertake other duties as delegated by your line manager, aligned with your role and capabilities.
Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Behavioural Science, Psychology, or similar (Essential)
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current National Police Check
- Queensland Driver Licence
- Willingness and ability to travel within the service region
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support

- Proven ability to lead and manage people effectively, fostering a high-performing, accountable team culture focused on collaboration and results.
- Demonstrated skill in clinical and critical decision-making under pressure, ensuring client safety and service quality in complex or high-risk situations.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capabilities, with a consistent track record of engaging clients, stakeholders, and team members to support shared goals.
- Commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement, actively evaluating and enhancing both individual and team performance.
- Confidence in managing crucial conversations, addressing issues directly and constructively while maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Experience managing a small caseload, while ensuring team performance and service delivery standards are consistently met.
- Comprehensive understanding of the sector and service contracts, with the ability to interpret and apply this knowledge to meet operational and client outcomes
