Our Business
Governance and Legal Services plays an important role providing support to the Lord Mayor and Councillors, the Chief Executive Officer and every Council program. In particular, we provide trusted advice to ensure Council's business is delivered through the provision of effective governance.
Our Branch
Working in the Lord Mayor's Administration and Engagement Office is an exciting opportunity where no two days will ever be the same. This is a high paced environment where you will be managing complex competing priorities and multiple events at the same time. The Protocol and Civic Events Team provides professional support to the Lord Mayor and Councillors in their role as civic leaders of the City, by managing and delivering civic events for the Lord Mayor's Office and providing protocol advice throughout Council.
The Role
This is an exciting role where no two days will ever be the same. This is a high paced environment where you will be managing complex competing priorities and multiple events at the same time. You will need to have demonstrated experience in coordinating and undertaking a broad range of end-to-end event management including experience with event management systems. Your outstanding organisational and time management skills combined with strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication abilities will stand you in good stead. You will also need to have experience with providing Protocol advice and understanding of the importance of local, national and international protocols
To be successful you will have:
- demonstrated ability and initiative to plan and prioritise work, have excellent customer service skills and be a great team player
- demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing event activities including planning, monitoring, and implementation
- ability to be calm and work under pressure, have the ability to think on your feet, be very organised and have the ability to perform well with minimal supervision to plan and execute events
- be a customer focused team player, that is able to liaise with various stakeholders to achieve your outcomes.
This role will require flexibility with work after hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays as required. In remuneration of this, an additional 15% loading is applied in addition to the annualised salary for the overtime requirements of the role.
