The Role
NSSG is the dedicated delivery agent for maritime capabilities, including relevant naval capability programs, sustainment of the fleet, Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment (CNSS) enabler outcomes, and leads the development of a naval shipbuilding and sovereign sustainment industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to help build and support the Australian maritime workforce.

In this role, you will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. You will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Strategic Workforce Planning, HR strategy and design. You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and review of workforce plans, policies and procedures.

You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and develop an in-depth understanding of Defence and Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment workforce planning initiatives. You will be a problem solver, able to engage in complex to very complex problem solving and issues management, and coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that affect strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence.

The Strategic Workforce Planning and Insights Directorate is an exciting and dynamic organisation that plays a crucial role in delivering the workforce strategy that underpins Australia's national naval shipbuilding and sustainment priorities. The Directorate provides highly valued advice, insights and strategies to the Deputy Secretary and NSSG Principals to shape and drive NSSG's workforce strategy.
