The Role
The Land Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (LISREW) Program Business Manager role is a complex and diverse position defined by its ability to manage the Business Requirement to the Program and its 5 sub-programs. The Business Manager role reports to the Director LISREW and has considerable independence and accountabilities to perform. The role is broad and the successful applicant will be required to achieve responsibilities across multiple complex strategic business and governance activities.

The responsibilities of the Business Manager include:

  • In conjunction with the Program Deputy Director develop, implement and oversee a Program Governance Framework.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Manage in year resource (finances, contract mechanisms, funding agreements and workforce).
  • Provide advice to LISREW Staff on policies pertaining to Reserve, APS and Contractor Staff.
  • Liaise with the LISREW sub programs and key stakeholders including CASG, DDG and DFG to support outer year financial planning.
  • Supervise and mentor the staff within the LISREW Program Management Office.
  • Lead point of contact with Chief of Staff Branch-procurement and contracts, finances, and workforce.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Collective Agreement (DECA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. The Land Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (LISREW) Program is a diverse hybrid workforce of highly professional ADF, APS and contractors.

The programs role is to modernise and sustain capabilities that help to create decision advantage or provide electronic protection to the integrated Land Force. LISREW has the lead for establishing the Land Targeting Enterprise (LTE) as a key pillar of the Defence Targeting Enterprise.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and innovative work environment, consisting of a hybrid workforce of ADF, APS and contractors.
  • Lead a small team consisting of two (2) APS 6 personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to progress critical work for the program and Directorate.
  • Support the Directorate in the coordination and delivery of key artefacts for internal governance committees and working groups.
