About the Client

Our client is a  Northern Territory-based law firm delivering strategic legal and commercial advice with recognised expertise in Aboriginal land matters, remote area commercial law, governance, property, and community-focused outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a Receptionist / Law Clerk for a temporary contract with an immediate start available. This role is the first point of contact with the firm and combines reception, administrative, and legal support duties. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth front-office operations while supporting the legal team with conveyancing and general administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist clients, manage reception, phones, and emails
  • Maintain client files (electronic and physical) and update records in practice management software (Smokeball)
  • Provide administrative support including document preparation, data entry, filing, and diary management
  • Support legal staff with correspondence, conveyancing documents, and property searches
  • Conduct external rounds (bank, post office, courts, agencies, etc.) – vehicle provided
  • Manage mail, couriers, and deliveries
  • Assist with general office tasks including supplies, travel bookings, and meeting coordination

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a legal, conveyancing, or administrative support role desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with professional manners
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and practice management software (experience with Smokeball advantageous)
  • Current driver's licence (essential)
