Meriton Suites is currently seeking a Handyperson to support one of our beautiful Sydney properties.

About the Role

As a Handyperson you will work to ensure our property is safe, well maintained and well presented. You will work as part of high performing maintenance team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
  • Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
  • Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
  • Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.
  • Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
  • Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
  • Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
  • Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
  • Changing locks on doors and windows.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Familiarity with handyperson duties or hold an applicable trade.
  • Exposure in a hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Have full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays (shift time between 7 am and 11 pm).
  • Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.
  • Must pass a Work Health Physical Assessment/Drug and Alcohol test prior to employment.
