We (Chris and Dot) are on Sydney's Northern Beaches. 5 mins from beaches, easy transport to shops and the city.

We are looking for 2 people - a house keeper/carer (10 hrs weekly) and a handy-person/garden maintenance (5 hrs weekly). You will both live in our free standing 1 year old, 2 bed, 2 bath, 1 small car spot, on site, unfurnished, Granny flat, in exchange for significant rent reduction. Preference will be given to people with cleaning / gardening experience. This job can be for a couple, or 2 people willing to share the granny-flat. No children. No smoking.

Services include but are not limited to:

10 hours caring/ housekeeping

  • Assisting Dot with preparing 2 evening meals a week - not necessarily cooking them
  • Assisting Dot with 2 breakfast meals a week
  • All home cleaning duties
  • Laundry (sort, wash, dry, fold, put away)
  • Change beds
  • Organise - cupboards, pantry
  • Purchasing with monies made available by Dot, or assisting Dot to purchase or pick up, food, clothing, toiletries and other personal items or necessaries of life as needed
  • Providing companionship for Dot
  • Providing some caring/supervision for Chris. Dot will be present as well.

5 hours handyperson/ garden maintenance.

  • Lawn and garden care for Granny Flat and main residence. Lawnmower and garden tools will be provided
  • Minor handyman tasks on and around the house
  • Taking cardboard etc to the tip as needed (approx. 1 every 2 months)
  • Putting out and bringing in the garbage bins if needed.
  • Arranging to transport Dot and Chris if needed.
  • Skim pool if needed (a company does the chemical and mechanical maintenance)

We would love to meet you if you:

  • Have excellent spoken and written English.
  • Are very infection safe, shots up-to-date. RAT tests for major infections will be provided/done weekly.
  • Have an ABN
  • Have Public liability and professional indemnity insurance (around $200 a year) - we can help you set this up.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Have a current Police Check
  • Have permanent work rights with no restrictions in Australia.
  • Are prepared to stay long term if we suit each other.
  • Are attentive to detail, honest, energetic and have a can-do attitude.

The successful applicants will finalise an agreement with our Estate Agent.
