The Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Pathways Officer to work at our Forest Lake Campus.  This position will report to the Head of VET and Pathways.

The Pathways Officer is responsible for the delivery, coordination and management of an effective pathways and career education program at their respective campus.  The Pathways Officer reports directly to the Head of VEP and Deputy Head of VEP. They also work closely with campus Principals and Deputy Principals to ensure pathways programs align with respective campus priorities.  

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Deliver and/or facilitate an effective Pathways Program, inclusive of Careers Education and Workplace Learning programs.  This may include training and assessment of VET courses delivered through Arethusa College's Scope of Registration.
  • Working directly with students and parents/carers to promote and provide career information, advice, and guidance to assist students to make the best possible educational, training and employment choices.
  • Sourcing and managing work experience opportunities and placements for students.  Includes following up on queries by staff, students and parents/carers, workplace visits, appreciation materials for employers, engaging employer
  • Source, promote and coordinate school-based apprenticeships and traineeships with relevant partners and industries.  Includes proactively developing industry relationships in the geographical location of the designated campus.

Responsibilities will include:

Administration and Training across Campus including the following areas:

  • Delivery of VET courses in a one on one or group setting
  • VET courses - including enrolment and administration of SATs
  • Work experience and Service Learning - administering opportunities for Students
  • Industry Liaison - maintaining proactive and strong partnerships including student worksite visits
  • Facilitating VEP Programs - (from VEP scope and sequence) with students
  • Career Education/SET Planning - provision of advice and counselling

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Cert IV Workplace Training & Assessment and/or demonstrated experience in the delivery of VET courses
  • Experience in managing and the delivery of Work Experience programs within a school environment
  • Experience in Career planning and alternate pathways for students
  • Advanced computer skills (experience with TASS & Activ8 Pathways program desirable)
