As part of our transformation, we're recruiting experienced Senior Medical Officers to join our Prison and Youth Detention Health Services (PYDHS) team.

This is a unique opportunity to live and work in Queensland while delivering trauma-informed, holistic care to vulnerable populations in secure environments. You'll be supported by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals in a service committed to innovation, education, and community partnerships.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver primary health care across eight correctional and youth detention facilities.
  • Lead clinical decision-making and multidisciplinary case conferences.
  • Support continuity of care and reintegration into the community.
  • Contribute to service innovation and quality improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Medical registration with AHPRA (or eligibility via AMC pathways).
  • Fellowship with FRACGP, FACRRM, or equivalent.
  • Experience in primary care, correctional health, youth health, or public health.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
