Alternative education and learning settings contribute to addressing student disengagement in Queensland. We are seeking a motivated Principal Project Officer to contribute to the evidence base and development of statewide guidance material to support high-quality alternative education and learning programs and offerings.

About the Role:

Working within the Student Engagement - Statewide Initiatives team, this role will be responsible for:

Researching and building the evidence base for high-quality alternative learning settings in state and non-state education pathways

Developing resources and case studies to support alternative education and learning guidance materials for schools and the system

Providing advice to schools and regions on appropriate alternative education and learning responses

Leading workshops and other consultation processes on the development of resources.

Working closely with Curriculum, Teaching and Learning team, the successful applicant will have:

Relationship-building skills to foster productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring development of resources are user-friendly

Strong written communication skills and an ability to communicate complex concepts for various audiences

Creative and strategic mindset to build effective processes and pathways to embed resources in the Education system

High self-efficacy and an ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals.

Candidates with a sound understanding of the drivers of student disengagement and knowledge of research and evidence relating to alternative learning settings are highly desirable and encouraged to apply.
