We are seeking a talented and experienced Cook to join our team at our cosy and vibrant dining outlet. This is a full-time, hands-on role suited to a motivated culinary professional who is passionate about food and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Position: Cook

  • Location: Bondi Beach
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: $76,515 per annum (base)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Handle ingredient preparation and pre-cooking where necessary (mise en place) to ensure smooth service across shifts.
  • Follow portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and minimise waste.
  • Ensure all dishes meet the business's quality, taste, and presentation standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Check, rotate, and store incoming stock properly.
  • Report low stock levels or shortages to the management.
  • Assist with stock organisation in dry stores, fridges, and freezers
  • Work collaboratively with the team (cooks, kitchenhands, and front-of-house staff)
  • Communicate effectively during service periods to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Support other team members during peak service times.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, OH&S, and workplace regulations.
  • Work closely with management to meet business objectives.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
  • Alternatively, at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Passion for food and commitment to excellence
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Ability to work well within a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in cafés, restaurants, catering, or commercial kitchens
  • Experience with multicultural or specialised cuisine (eg. Asian, Mediterranean, Modern Australian)
