Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect ingredients to ensure they meet quality and freshness standards
  • Cook a diverse range of brunch meals, including both savory hot meals and sweet desserts or pastries
  • Enhance flavors by skillfully seasoning dishes throughout the cooking process
  • Plate meals with care, including the addition of sauces, gravies, and garnishes for presentation
  • Ensure proper food storage in accordance with temperature and safety regulations
  • Accommodate special dietary needs by modifying dishes as required
  • Support menu planning and help calculate ingredient quantities for efficient kitchen operations
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen inventory, ensuring timely reporting of stock levels to prevent shortages

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in both hot section cooking and pastry/dessert preparation
  • A passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced setting
  • Positive attitude and a team-first mindset
  • Must have legal working rights in Australia
  • Fluency in English is required; Mandarin language skills are a strong advantage
