We are an Australian-owned and operated manufacturing company located in Hallam, Victoria, with over 40 years of experience supplying quality products to both Australian and international markets.

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Trade Assistant to join our team within our busy manufacturing facility in the blow moulding department.

Job Summary

The Entry Level Trade Assistant will be trained to operate, monitor, and maintain blow moulding machines used in the production of plastic containers and related products.

This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in developing technical skills in manufacturing, machine operation, and quality control. The Trade Assistant will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, start-up, and shut-down of blow moulding machines.
  • Learn to operate and monitor blow moulding equipment to ensure consistent production.
  • Perform basic machine adjustments under supervision.
  • Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and defects.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and support preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Record production data and report any irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Support senior technicians and participate in on-the-job training sessions.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating practices.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operation.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes or plastics industry (preferred but not required).
  • Good attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Physically fit to handle standing, lifting, and operating machinery.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous learning.

Career Path

This position provides the foundation to progress into roles such as Blow Moulding Technician, Maintenance Technician, or Production Supervisor, depending on performance and additional training.
