We're now looking for a full-time Maintenance Fitter to join our team at the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). You'll be part of an inclusive, supportive, and diverse team working on the afternoon shift (2pm–10pm), with overtime available as required.
About the Role:
In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of plant equipment by performing both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks., including welding when required during downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently
- Support the day-to-day operations of the facility
- Proactive welding during downtime hours
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Always follow safety regulations and safety rules at all times. Report any unsafe work practices or near misses.
- Communicate effectively with internal management and team members
About you:
- Previous experience in maintenance fitting within Waste Management/Recycling, FMCG, food production, Manufacturing or plant setting (highly regarded)
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (desirable but not mandatory)
- Proven welding experience
- Strong commitment to safety and quality work practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of MRF equipment and mechanical troubleshooting
