Role Overview
The Fundraising & Grants Coordinator is a pivotal member of the Engagement & Fundraising Team, directly contributing to the delivery of the Strategic Plan. We focus on growing awareness of our mission, strengthening donor relationships, securing sustainable funding, and delivering measurable engagement outcomes.
You will be part of a supportive, mission-driven team, with a scope to innovate, collaborate, and see tangible results from your work. The role secures financial support for our mission through the coordination of engagement initiatives, fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship and corporate partners.
Working closely with the Engagement & Fundraising Manager, the Fundraising & Grants Coordinator will deliver agreed KPI outcomes in fundraising revenue, donor retention, grant success rates, and community engagement.
Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising & and Stewardship
· Identify and develop initiatives that engage our potential audience and feed donor pipelines
· Plan, coordinate, and deliver fundraising campaigns and appeals that align with Operational Plan targets.
Coordinate and deliver events that contribute to donor stewardship, fundraising goals, and brand visibility.
Provide support with materials development and communication
Support donor cultivation through personalised communications, thank-you letters, and engagement opportunities.
· Implement stewardship activities to retain and grow donor support, ensuring measurable improvements in donor engagement metrics.
· Manage the donor database (CRM) to maintain accuracy, track activities, generate timely receipting and reporting.
· Become the champion of donor data, and its importance to Legacy WA
· Contribute to sponsorship proposals, ensuring alignment with Legacy WA's recognition framework.
Grants & Proposal Writing
• Research and identify grant opportunities in line with the Operational Plan's funding priorities.
• Prepare high-quality, compelling grant applications and proposals, with measurable success against annual grant income targets.
• Collaborate with program staff to collect relevant data, budgets, and success stories to strengthen applications.
• Support the Engagement and Fundraising Manager in relationship management of grant funders, corporate partners and high net worth donors
• Maintain the grants calendar, ensuring all applications, implementation timelines, acquittals, and compliance deadlines are met.
• Working closely with the relevant team members, coordinate all marketing and communications for grant funded programming
• Collaborate with the team to develop and deliver promotional content for grant-funded programs, fundraising campaigns, events, and grant recognition.
• Ensure all campaign messaging is consistent with Legacy WA's values, brand guidelines, and Strategic Plan objectives.
• Leverage digital fundraising platforms, email marketing tools, and social media to maximise campaign reach and donor engagement.
• Support stakeholder communications when required
Essential:
• –5 years' experience in fundraising, including grant writing, donor stewardship, and event or campaign coordination.
• Sound understanding of the not-for-profit and philanthropic landscape, including sector-specific compliance and funding trends.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising targets through grants, corporate partnerships, and individual donor programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of producing persuasive grant applications, proposals, and donor communications.
• Proven ability to manage donor data in a CRM system with accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising/marketing digital tools.
Desirable:
· Experience providing logistical and administrative support for fundraising or community events.
