We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll and Finance Officer to join our dynamic Finance Team. About the Role
As the Payroll and Finance Officer, you will assist with the fortnightly payroll processing, support payroll system administration, and handle key finance tasks, including reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and general financial administration.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing fortnightly pay runs accurately and on time
- Maintaining employee records and processing position/salary changes, with appropriate approvals and audit trails
- Conducting end-of-month payroll processing, reporting, and reconciliations
- Supporting integration of payroll and HR data across internal systems
- Managing payroll-related communications and correspondence
- Administering the payroll kiosk system and employee leave processes
- Liaising with our Salary Packaging Provider for employee packaging services
- Processing invoices and customer expenditure in the accounting system
- Managing reimbursement requests and ensuring client expenses fall within eligibility timeframes
- Supporting general finance administrative tasks as required
This role is being offered on a full time fixed term contract, ending 30 June 2026.About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma or tertiary qualifications in a Finance-related field
- Experience in payroll processing and finance administration
- Understanding of employment-related legislation (e.g., PAYG, Superannuation, Fair Work Act)
- High-level computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, databases)
- Strong verbal communication and data entry skills
- Excellent accuracy, time management, and organisational skills
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Experience with CHRIS21 payroll system
- Previous experience in the Employment Services or Training sector

Remuneration
A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
