· Permanent Full Time - Senior Officer, Level 2 plus above award payment, 12% superannuation, 4 weeks annual leave

Relevant Bachelor's (or higher) level qualification, plus more than 1 year of relevant full-time work experience

The position is an integral part of the Corporate and Finance Services Team by providing strong financial support and is accountable to the Director of Corporate and Community. The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for providing the efficient control and processing of Council's accounts payable function, including effective and efficient financial administration. In consultation with our external Strategic Financial Advisor, you will contribute to the strong financial control and governance of the council financial position.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Developing and maintaining financial systems

· Planning, directing and controlling accounting and financial operations

· Monitoring and reporting on budget performance

· Initiate and process journals relative to function

· Oversee the processing of payroll, EFT payments, cheques, Bpay, direct debits and stop payments

· Oversee the processing of bank reconciliation of Council's bank accounts

· Initiate transfers between Council bank accounts and investment funds

· Administer Fuel Tax credits for Council Fleet

· Initiate and reconcile CITB payments and RCTI as required

· Lead the grants acquittal process

· BAS preparation and submission

· Contribute to internal control processes following legislative requirements and Council's Internal Controls Policy and Procedure.
