About Cova

At Cova, we're a venture backed startup founded by an experienced team building cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions that require both robust security protocols and sophisticated knowledge management for the insurance industry. We're seeking a Head of Compliance and Data to help us mature our security posture and knowledge infrastructure as we scale.

The Role

This dual-focused position will drive our compliance initiatives while simultaneously overseeing our knowledge management strategy. Working directly with our CEO, CTO, and key stakeholders, you'll help shape how we approach security, AI alignment, and information architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance & Security:

  • Lead ISO certification processes and maintain ongoing compliance
  • Develop and manage our trust center operations
  • Coordinate adversarial testing, prompt injection testing, and other security measures
  • Stay current with evolving AI regulations and ensure our alignment with industry standards
  • Respond to security enquiries from key stakeholders and customers
  • Attend key sales meetings where security is top of mind for larger customers

Knowledge Management:

  • Refine and expand our knowledge base for Australian and global markets
  • Develop strategies for data curation and content quality assurance
  • Implement effective knowledge organization systems and taxonomies
  • Collaborate with technical teams to optimize knowledge retrieval and application

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance, security, or risk management
  • Understanding of knowledge management principles and practices
  • Familiarity with AI alignment challenges and mitigation strategies
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management experience
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and comfort with ambiguity

Location & Hours

  • Based in our Sunshine Coast office
  • Full-time preferred, with flexibility for part-time arrangements for exceptional candidates
