About the Role
We're looking for a seasoned, driven, and dynamic Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join our Lending Team. In this pivotal role, you'll contribute to UFS's risk management goals by preparing and managing credit submissions for Uniting Church, School, and Commercial Loan proposals. You'll also maintain portfolio analytics, assess property valuations, and help identify potential credit risks - ensuring our lending practices remain compliant, responsible, and aligned with our values. This is more than just a credit role - it's an opportunity to support communities, schools, and congregations across NSW and ACT by removing financial barriers and enabling growth with integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage credit submissions for new originations, including Uniting Church, School, and Commercial Loan proposals.
- Prepare and manage credit submissions for annual reviews and term extensions, including for existing Uniting Church, School, and Commercial Loan borrowers.
- Conduct tenancy reviews of commercial loan arrangements and reporting trends in credit quality.
- Maintain the Lending Team's Commercial Loan portfolio analytics.
- Review property valuations and provide summary of key components.
- Maintain and monitor Uniting Church, School, and Commercial Loans.
- Timely and accurate approach to all lending administrative functions.
- Financial Analysis of balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flows.
About You
- Solid experience in commercial/property lending and credit analysis within Australian financial services.
- Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance, balanced with sales and service experience.
- Sound knowledge (10 years+) of Commercial Lending and Credit Risk.
- Sharp ability to assess and manage risk in lending transactions.
- Skilled at building strong stakeholder partnerships
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in handling sensitive issues and relationships, and navigating change collaboratively.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a skill for turning complex data into clear strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience encompassing people and budget skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet agreed targets and deadlines.
- Structured and methodical with a focus on timely and accurate reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of written materials, information and issues associated with the NSW/ACT Synod.
- Advanced computer literacy skills.
- A preparedness to work within the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia.
- Have a genuine willingness to embrace challenges as they arise and to work flexibly in support of the overall key objectives of The Synod Office.
