The Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (NT) plays a crucial role in ensuring integrity and accountability in public administration. Established under the
Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Act 2017
(ICAC Act), the OICAC focuses on preventing, detecting, investigating, and responding to improper conduct within government entities, local government councils, elected members and organisations that receive funds from the government.

Currently the OICAC has vacancies for both a Principal Investigator and a Senior Operations Officer. The Selection Panel will assess applications against each level and will make offers of employment based on the successful applicant's experience and qualifications.

As a
Senior Operations Officer
you play a pivotal role in progressing activities in the combined Assessment and Investigation functions of the unit, ensuring the timely, thorough and accurate assessments of reports and the investigations of the most complex and sensitive allegations of improper conduct in accordance with the statutory obligations of the ICAC Act. This involves collecting and analysing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing comprehensive reports, including plans, decision records, interview plans and witness statements. Additionally, you will analyse and synthesise information, utilising your professional judgement to ensure assessments and investigations are conducted fairly and in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

As the
Principal Investigator
you report to the Director of Operations and provide leadership to a team of Investigators conducting investigations into alleged improper conduct. Your core responsibilities involve handling the most complex cases of improper conduct. This includes, utilising statutory powers to collect and analyse evidence, interview witnesses, and deliver comprehensive reports. Additionally, you will mentor and provide technical guidance to enhance the investigative capabilities of the operations team. Your role will include devising investigative strategies, managing case priorities, reviewing materials, and producing detailed reports of the highest quality.

Ideally, you will have a proven track record in conducting criminal or administrative investigations, a knack for deciphering complex information, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding integrity. Strong communication skills, the ability to craft clear investigation reports, and a readiness to contribute to policy enhancements are essential for success in this role.
