Primary objective
Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Workforce Operations and Partnerships team, ensuring delivery of quality
services to the Northern Territory Public Sector with a focus on standardisation of better practice Human Resources (HR)
solutions and processes.
Context statement
Workforce Services (WS) are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services arrangement across a geographically
and culturally diverse environment. Structured into several work streams, the Senior Director Workforce Operations and
Partnerships (WOP) leads the delivery of a wide range of services including Recruitment and Specialised Recruitment,
Workforce Business Partners, Structure Alignment Services and general HR Support.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the WOP team, with a focus on effectively supporting the diverse needs of agencies through efficient,
reliable, standardised delivery of best practice workforce services.
2. Provide executive level professional advice to WS staff and client agency Chief Executives and Executive teams.
3. Effectively lead service delivery and consistency across the division by fostering a collaborative, client-focused culture
and embedding streamlined HR practices to deliver front-line human resources support and end-to-end recruitment
services.
- Partner with clients ensuring the two-way flow of information where the needs of clients are well understood and inform
the development of solutions and processes that are prioritised within available resources, capitalising on digital solutions.
- Work with the Senior Directors for Workforce Development and Workforce Management to foster collaborative
partnerships with the Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment, professional associations and other relevant
stakeholders as part of providing sector wide leadership on human resource and workforce management issues.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Executive-level experience leading and managing front-line human resources support and end-to-end recruitment
services in a client-focused environment, while working collaboratively with stakeholders across diverse business areas.
2. Demonstrated understanding of organisational culture and contemporary HR practice and processes.
3. A skilled leader who, through their personal drive, energy and ability is able to operate effectively in an environment of
significant change, creating a cohesive team and positive work environment, while driving a culture of professionalism
and achievement.
- Executive experience that demonstrates sound judgement, analysis and critical thinking to resolve issues and design
pragmatic solutions to improve business processes for client groups with complex or varied functions.
- A deep understanding of continuous improvement and change management requirements with personal drive and
commitment to the implementation of enterprise corporate services
- Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical
practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Post graduate qualifications in human resources, management, business or other relevant discipline.
