The firm is launching a suite of wholesale investment vehicles offering diversified access to real-estate-backed credit strategies:

  • First Mortgage Fund

– Senior secured facilities (≤70% LVR) prioritising capital preservation, disciplined security coverage and stable distributable yield.
- High Yield Fund

– Mezzanine and subordinated credit (≤80% LVR) structured with defined inter creditor arrangements, covenant frameworks and protective security architecture.
- Opportunities Fund

– Flexible mandate enabling bespoke structured finance solutions including recapitalisations, bridge facilities and special situations lending.

Kingsmen maintains institutional underwriting standards including comprehensive sponsor due diligence, multi-layer collateral evaluation, security perfection processes and ongoing covenant monitoring to ensure alignment with fund risk parameters and governance protocols.

Role Overview

The Head of Origination will lead the sourcing, evaluation, structuring and execution of credit transactions across first mortgage, mezzanine and blended capital stack solutions. The role requires a deep command of credit risk assessment, security and priority structuring, inter creditor deed negotiation, feasibility underwriting and exit liquidity analysis. The appointee will oversee origination strategy, guide deployment pacing aligned to fund mandates and maintain institutional discipline across transaction execution and credit governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure and negotiate senior secured, mezzanine and structured finance facilities aligned to fund mandates.
  • Develop and maintain strategic counterparties across developers, sponsors, corporate borrowers, advisory firms, family offices and institutional capital partners.
  • Conduct sponsor due diligence, feasibility and sensitivity modelling, DSCR and LVR assessments, collateral and exit pathway analysis.
  • Structure facility terms including pricing matrices, amortisation profiles, covenant suites, security arrangements and intercreditor positions.
  • Prepare investment memoranda and present credit recommendations to the Investment Committee.
  • Lead transaction execution including negotiation of facility documentation, priority deeds, security documentation, drawdown frameworks and settlement processes.
  • Monitor market pricing trends, capital flow dynamics, sector risk factors and competitive positioning to guide origination strategy.
  • Support portfolio oversight through pipeline reporting and credit monitoring commentary.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in private credit, structured lending, real estate finance or investment banking.
  • Demonstrated origination and transaction structuring track record with established borrower and adviser relationships.
  • Strong capability in credit structuring, covenant negotiation, collateral and security evaluation and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to manage transactions end-to-end within institutional governance frameworks.
