- Full-time role based in Sydney.
Our people are customer obsessed. They prioritise the needs and satisfaction of the customer above all else. Our mindset fosters innovation and creates strong, lasting customer relationships as we strive to be the most customer centric company in Australia and New Zealand.
In the role of Head of Credit Strategy, you will join NAB's Economics and Markets Research team in a senior leadership position.
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic thinker; you will be responsible for leading the Credit Strategy team in delivering timely sectoral and company specific research.
You will work closely as part of the Economics and Markets research team, led by Sally Auld, as well as working with key internal stakeholders – in particular, NAB's Capital Markets Origination and Distribution team. You will develop robust research and analysis; deliver high quality and compelling presentations and communicate key recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
Each day, you'll go above and beyond to:
- Produce detailed credit research relevant to the Australian corporate bond market
- Synthesising findings and developing compelling, structured client presentations that clearly articulate key views and recommendations
- Sectors covered include Banking, Finance & Insurance, Telcos, Retail, Property
- Sectoral analysis will focus on industry drivers and competitive forces, likely trends, threats and opportunities, the impact of the economy and economic policy changes, implications from regulatory changes, ranking of participants and determination of industry benchmarks
- Other sectorial analysis will focus on bond issuance expectations, maturities and bond pricing implications, including with reference to global market developments
- Individual company research will focus on activities and operational performance; management & strategy; competitive position; industry dynamics, financial performance and forecasts; assessment of key credit risk considerations and of implications for key external rating agency credit ratings.
- On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with Research, Trading, and Sales teams.
- Develop industry relationships and an understanding of the banking sector and trends, including key implications for the business
- Advocate for a customer-centric approach in all processes, ensuring our services meet the unique needs of our customers
We're looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You'll need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and depth of banking experience in Credit Strategy in either personal/private/corporate/credit or specialised business, or equivalent professional experience in a related role
- Ability to lead with a customer-obsessed mindset for your team
- Strong credit, financial modelling and analytical skills
- Strong ability to communicate at both strategic and operational level internally and externally, making effective decisions balancing both business and stakeholder needs
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of successfully managing and resolving complex operational issues
- Able to straddle strategic and operational – but very comfortable rolling sleeves up and "doing the work"
- Provide professional and ethical behaviour in your actions by ensuring compliance with external legislation, bank standards and internal operating policies and procedures relevant to the position
A diverse and inclusive workplace works better for everyone
We know that our people make us who we are. That's why we have built a culture of equity and respect – where everyone feels valued and appreciated for being their authentic selves.
