Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Restaurant Manager / Sommelier to join our team. The successful candidate will manage our wine program, curate wine selections, provide expert recommendations to members, and collaborate closely with our Venue Manager and Head Chef to pair wines with our exquisite menu offerings. This is an exciting opportunity for a wine professional looking to take their career to the next level in a luxury setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the boutique restaurant operations at the club.
  • Manage and curate the club's wine list, including sourcing new and unique selections.
  • Offer expert wine recommendations to members, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Conduct wine tastings, events, and educational sessions for members and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create exceptional wine pairings.
  • Maintain inventory control and ensure proper storage and handling of wine stock.
  • Train staff on wine knowledge and service standards.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3+ years experience as a Restaurant Manager or Sommelier in a fine dining or luxury setting.
  • A strong passion for wine, with an extensive knowledge of international and Australian wines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with members in a warm and professional manner.
  • Formal wine qualifications (e.g., WSET Level 2 or higher, Court of Master Sommeliers certification) are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage wine programs and inventory control.
  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
