About the role

Oden, a new branch of Ishizuka restaurant in the heart of Melbourne, is seeking a talented Assistant Front of House to join our team. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to further develop their skills in an exceptional dining environment. Based in our Melbourne CBD location, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional service to our discerning clientele.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing knowledgeable guidance on our extensive wine list, making recommendations to diners and ensuring an exceptional customer experience
  • Assisting the Manager and curation of our wine cellar
  • Maintaining an expert understanding of our wine offerings, food pairings and cocktail menu
  • Leading and training the front-of-house team to deliver world-class service
  • Ensuring all service and presentation standards are upheld to the highest level
  • Contributing to the overall smooth running of the restaurant during service

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sommelier or Supervisor in a high-end fine dining establishment
  • Proven expertise in wine and beverage knowledge, with the ability to make informed recommendations
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to deliver a personalised, memorable dining experience
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop and motivate the front-of-house team
  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to upholding the highest standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational abilities
