SUD food and wine Ristorante Italiano is seeking an experienced Section Waiter/Sommelier to join our passionate and dedicated team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and food and wine expertise to our discerning diners in our Melbourne CBD restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  1. Greeting and seating guests, and providing a warm and friendly dining experience
  2. Recommending and describing menu items and wine pairings to enhance the customer's dining experience
  3. Accurately taking and processing food and drink orders
  4. Ensuring timely and efficient service of meals and drinks
  5. Maintaining a clean and well-organised service area
  6. Assisting with stock control and inventory management
  7. Supporting the Sommelier with wine service and recommendations
  8. Adhering to all health, safety and licensing regulations

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Section Waiter or Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting
  2. Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for food and wine
  3. Strong knowledge of wine varietals, regions and food pairing
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  6. Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
  7. Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
