Byron Shire, Australia Transport for NSW Full time $90,000 - $120,000 per year

You thrive in a fast-paced team environment that challenges you.

If finding complex technological solutions is your game, we've got the team for you. You're going to help us create seamless operations that result in efficiency for millions of customers.

In this role, you'll:

Join our Regional Transport Operations Centre in one of 4 x Operations Coordinator positions, where you will be responsible for operating a range of network and tunnel management systems; and coordinating responses to planned events and unplanned incidents to optimise the customer experience when travelling on the State transport network in Regional NSW.

You will identify and assess unusual congestion and delays, including any impacts to transport corridors or routes. You will also operate control systems for the State network (traffic and tunnel) in regional NSW, including tunnel ventilation, power, fire and drainage systems, and network management devices, such as variable message signs, variable speed limit signs and lane use management signs, to optimise the customer journey experience.

You will work closely with our Transport Management Centre's traffic operations room while focusing on the achievement of team goals and objectives.

We have 4 x permanent full-time opportunities available, located on site at our McLeods Shoot Regional Transport Operations Centre in Northern NSW. This is a 24/7 operations centre and therefore you will be required to work a rotating roster covering day and night shifts and often be available on public holidays throughout the year as required. As these are shift work positions, attractive penalty and overtime rates, along with 5 weeks annual leave per year will apply.

If you are looking for a lifestyle change with a move to beautiful Northern NSW, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the Regional NSW road and tunnel network, this could be the role for you.

About you

You are experienced in managing unplanned incidents within a control room environment, including evaluating and reporting on outcomes, engaging with high-profile stakeholders, and managing tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.

Your ability to collaborate with professionals across all levels and divisions, and proven ability to exercise sound judgement, risk mitigation and problem-solving, ideally within a transport and tunnel environment, will see you achieve success in this role.

If you have experience in an operations control centre environment, network management, and computerised electronic traffic and transport systems or similar, along with effective communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills, this could be the right career opportunity for you.
