What you'll be doing

Lead data management, quality and engineering activities within the Cancer Screening and Prevention Division, developing and implementing processes and frameworks to facilitate effective cancer service delivery operations, business intelligence and advanced analytics in line with best practice and relevant Cancer Institute policies and standards.

• 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)

• 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

Essential requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in health information management, business, computer science, information technology or related discipline, or demonstrated, equivalent relevant professional experience and training in data management and engineering.
• Demonstrated understanding of database development and engineering including skills in SQL scripting including stored procedures and data transformation.
• Demonstrated understanding of data management and quality principles and methods as they relate to health records.
• Understanding of the NSW Health Records and Information Privacy Act and other relevant legislation.

If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.

Pre-screening questions

• Describe a time when you led a highly technical team to deliver a data or technology initiative that supported a public health or service delivery outcome. How did you balance stakeholder needs across business and technical domains?
• In a resource-constrained environment, how do you prioritise competing data and technology requests from internal and external stakeholders? Provide an example of how you managed this successfully.
