Empirical Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of critical Defence programs. Based in Amberley, QLD, this role offers the opportunity to drive project outcomes across governance, planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring successful delivery of capability within cost, schedule, and quality thresholds.

You will work under limited direction to achieve outcomes in a complex environment, liaising with stakeholders at all levels and providing leadership and assurance across multiple workstreams.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead planning and execution of project and product scope, schedules, risks, budgets, contracts, and resources
  • Develop, update, and maintain project and governance documentation to assure project outcomes
  • Support submissions and briefings for senior reviews, steering groups, and assurance activities
  • Integrate Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) through effective stakeholder engagement and coordination
  • Deliver project and product reporting using applicable Defence management systems (e.g. PPRIP, Predict, Open Plan Professional)
  • Identify, document, and manage risks, issues, and opportunities through to closure or realisation
  • Provide mentoring and subject matter guidance to project and product team members
  • Contribute to project governance, ensuring objectives and milestones are achieved in line with Defence frameworks

  • Diploma-level qualification in project management (or equivalent)

  • Team Leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Current NV1 security clearance (mandatory)
  • Willingness to undertake occasional interstate travel

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:

  • Experience with Defence acquisition and sustainment projects
  • Familiarity with Defence documentation standards and assurance frameworks
  • Program management experience in complex environments
  • Proven capability in project delivery, stakeholder communications, and providing strategic business advice
