How Does The Essence Graduate Program Work?

The Essence Graduate program is your first step into a dynamic industry. In your role, you will work within a team of our project managers to gain invaluable experience in managing projects, and helping our clients transform and reinvigorate some of Australia's landmark locations.

As an Essence Graduate, you will gain exposure to a wide network of people and projects and will be equipped with the tools to gain practical experience in a range of project sectors.

Our team has extensive experience and understands how to successfully deliver projects in all sectors including; Healthcare, Education, Hotels & Hospitality, Commercial, Build to Rent, Residential, Heritage, Retirement & Seniors Living, Retail, Social and Sustainable Design.

Our program has been developed to help you meet your best potential. Throughout the program you will be supported by a dedicated program team, receive continuous feedback, and will have the ability to be mentored by leading industry professionals. Feedback will be provided in a constructive manner so that you have a clear understanding of your areas of strength and any areas that require further development. The performance feedback process will enable us to provide you with appropriate support through the program, including targeted development and support.

You will also be allocated a buddy and have regular catch ups to check in.

The program is an 18-month program, where you will be able to move between projects, teams and managers to fit in with your development plan and business goals. You will gain the experience with:

  • Different industry sectors
  • Full lifecycle of a project
  • Undertaking diverse roles and responsibilities

You will be employed as a Graduate Project Manager and will be provided with all the Employee Benefits that come with being part of the Essence Team.

The Essence Graduate Program is designed to equip Graduates with the skills and experience required to successfully transitions into full time permanent employment with Essence.

  • Workshops held by leading consultants in the industry presenting on key topics e.g. planning, services design, sustainability, architecture, fire engineering etc.
  • Regular 1:1 informal check-in's with a dedicated senior member of the business

Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualification or in your final year of study within: Building & Construction, Project Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture
  • Strong aspirations to learn and grow within the industry
  • Have exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop valuable connections with people
  • Well presented with a positive attitude
