This process is for a recruitment pool that will run for a period of twelve (12) months and will offer opportunities to work in the Department's Legislative Services Directorate at Levels 5 or 6 - with permanent vacancies available for immediate filling on a full time or part time basis.

About The Role
The Legislative Services Directorate is at the forefront of legislative change in the State and is regarded as a lead agency in the provision of high quality and precise policy advice and drafting instructions. The justice portfolio encompasses criminal and civil justice and corrective services policy reform and the Directorate has extensive corporate knowledge and experience in delivering on complex policy projects to support the Attorney General and Minister for Corrective Services as part of their legislative reform agendas.
The Directorate has three work streams: development and drafting of legislation, implementation of legislation and review of legislation. As part of the Legislative Services team, the successful applicant will be expected to do one or more of the following:
- Facilitate the amendment of legislation to reform criminal and civil law and procedure.
- Develop policy initiatives to improve justice-related outcomes for the community.
- Carry out reviews, evaluations and research to recommend improvements to, and future directions for, policy, legislation and services.
- Provide policy analysis to support making the justice system more efficient, equitable and effective.
- Facilitate the implementation of legislation, including intra and inter agency planning and coordination.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of twelve (12) months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
