Adelaide Oval has long been one of Australia's, and the worlds, most iconic venues. Its prominent location as the centrepiece of the Adelaide CBD's riverbank precinct, along with stunning panoramic views over the city, the Oval's hallowed turf, St Peter's Cathedral and beyond, makes Adelaide Oval one of the world's most recognisable venues.
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager – Marketing & Corporate Affairs will play a central role in delivering our ambitious vision to be Australia's most iconic provider of world-class, unmissable experiences for all. This role is responsible for managing sophisticated brand, marketing, communications and engagement strategies that build upon Adelaide Oval's rich history and global reputation, encompassing our diverse portfolio including the Adelaide Oval Hotel, RoofClimb, Turf Solutions and Functions & Events.
As General Manager – Marketing & Corporate Affairs, you'll balance strategy with influence, leading from the front to shape the next chapter of Adelaide Oval's story, one defined by excellence, community and South Australian pride.
What you'll be working on:
- Lead, coach and develop the Marketing & Corporate Affairs team members to drive positive engagement and high performance.
- Liaise and collaborate with the AOSMA Board, and Leadership Team to support the ongoing enhancement of Adelaide Oval's brand and reputation.
- Develop, champion and implement strategies to optimise Adelaide Oval's engagement with a broad portfolio of key stakeholders, but particularly demonstrating strong capability to engage all levels of Government (Federal, State, Local) with the overall strategic direction of Adelaide Oval.
- Develop, champion and implement comprehensive Marcomms strategies and plans in order to enhance the businesses capability to achieve its ambitious strategic objectives and growth agenda, particularly in key growth markets such as the eastern seaboard of Australia. A strong focus on tangible and results based outcomes is essential across all Marcomms channels.
- Champion Adelaide Oval's Social Responsibility strategy in order to ensure business units align with modern and progressive expectations of external stakeholders whilst managing the demands and requirements of our internal stakeholders.
What You'll Bring:
To be successful, you will be an exceptional and dynamic people leader who inspires through vision, capability and collaboration. You will bring proven expertise and professional acumen which includes:
- In-depth and hands-on experience in a similar senior leadership role ( minimum 5+ years) and a proven track record as a successful leader in similar fast paced Marketing & Corporate Affairs environments.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate teams, and to collaborate effectively as a trusted member of senior leadership.
- Elevated understanding of marketing and communications strategy, with a demonstrated ability to design and deliver enterprise-wide initiatives that achieve measurable outcomes.
- Strategic agility, creative thinking and sound political judgement.
- Exceptional understanding of Marcomms and proven track record in the development of effective enterprise-level strategies.
- Demonstrated capability to bring a growth mindset to business challenges and problem solving capability.
- The confidence and credibility to engage and influence senior leaders and Board Directors, contributing to strategic direction and effective decision-making.
Please note that out of hours work will be requirement of this role, in line with the broad and diverse business operations of Adelaide Oval.
