My client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding Construction and Property Development firm based in South Australia, is searching for an experienced and ambitious General Manager. They are known for their commitment to innovation, efficiency, and integrity, delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the region. This is a rare opportunity to join a business at a pivotal scaling phase and directly influence its future success.
The OpportunityReporting directly to the Directors, the General Manager will be the operational backbone of the company, overseeing the entirety of day-to-day operations-from ground-up construction to final project delivery. You'll be tasked not only with maintaining superior quality and delivery standards but also with developing and executing the strategic vision needed to achieve significant growth targets.
Key Responsibilities: Your Impact- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement robust business strategies that drive company goals and scale the business effectively.
- Operational Oversight: Lead and manage all core functions, including Construction, Property Development, Finance, Marketing, and Administration.
- Project Excellence: Ensure the timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of multiple residential and commercial projects, maintaining stringent compliance with all Australian building codes and regulatory standards.
- Financial Stewardship: Take control of budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, reporting key metrics to the Directors.
- Team & Stakeholder Management: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to project, site, and office teams, while building and maintaining critical relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a proven operator and strategist, ready to step into a high-responsibility role.
- Experience: Minimum 7-10 years' experience in the construction or property development industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management/leadership role.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is required. An MBA is highly preferred.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of project management, contract administration, and budgeting.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with a proven ability to manage multiple teams and complex projects simultaneously.
