General Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our growing business, The Local Guys', in our Adelaide, SA headquarters. This full-time role will oversee all aspects of our operations, with a focus on driving the company's overall performance and growth objectives.

As General Manager, you'll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive operational excellence, support our franchise partners, and lead our internal support centre. You'll have a hands-on role across strategy, systems, training, people, and performance.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and execute the company's strategic vision, plans and initiatives
• Manage day-to-day business operations, including financial, HR, sales and marketing functions
• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of managers and specialists
• Represent the company externally and build strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and internal policies
• Analyse business performance data to make informed, data-driven decisions

• Lead day-to-day operations across all business divisions.
• Support and mentor franchisees to help them succeed in their territories.
• Oversee internal teams including admin, marketing, onboarding, and customer support.
• Develop and implement systems that improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Collaborate with the CEO to drive strategic growth and expansion.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
• Drive ongoing training and compliance across the network.
• Support national client relationships and partnerships.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a senior operational or general management role (franchise or service-based industry ideal).
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and KPIs.
• A natural problem-solver with a hands-on attitude.
• Experience supporting franchisees or small business owners (preferred).
• Proven track record of driving profitable growth and operational excellence in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Excellent people management and leadership skills, with a focus on team development and motivation
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
• Degree qualification in a relevant field (e.g. business, management, commerce)
