Role Overview
The Head of Credit will sit within Kingsmen's investment team and will be responsible for the assessment structuring risk governance and credit quality of all transactions executed across Kingsmen's private credit strategies. This role is central to the investment decision making process and ensures that every deployment meets mandate requirements underwriting standards and portfolio risk tolerance.
The role requires a senior investment credit professional with deep expertise in credit structuring portfolio risk surveillance covenant architecture valuation analysis downside protection modelling and legal enforceability. The Head of Credit will work closely with the CIO investment committee legal counsel trustee groups investor relations and internal governance stakeholders to ensure capital is deployed into well structured defensible and high conviction opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the credit underwriting function including borrower analysis sponsor strength assessment financial modelling project feasibility validation serviceability testing sensitivity modelling and downside scenario design.
• Evaluate capital structures across first mortgage stretched senior mezzanine and structured credit exposures including ranking intercreditor considerations priority waterfalls cashflow coverage and exit viability.
• Oversee preparation and submission of credit memoranda investment recommendations valuation commentary covenant proposals and risk adjusted return metrics for investment committee review.
• Maintain Kingsmen's credit policy including mandate alignment risk appetite statements concentration limits counterparty exposure parameters portfolio diversification rules and valuation governance.
• Ensure credit decisions comply with AFSL obligations Corporations Act wholesale investor provisions AML/CTF reporting requirements and responsible manager oversight standards including legal enforceability of all security documentation.
• Oversee negotiation of facility agreements security documents personal guarantees general security agreements priority deeds intercreditor arrangements and default enforcement mechanisms in coordination with legal counsel.
• Implement rigorous post settlement surveillance including covenant testing construction milestone verification valuations arrears monitoring impairment analysis and early intervention protocols.
• Develop and maintain portfolio level dashboards covering loan exposures geographic and asset class diversification covenant compliance liquidity management yield analytics and early warning indicators.
• Partner with investor relations on transaction level and portfolio level materials including investment memos investor updates credit commentary risk disclosures and marketing documentation to ensure institutional clarity and compliance alignment.
• Provide credit insights to origination investor relations and operations teams to ensure proposals meet mandate parameters liquidity pacing requirements and investor suitability criteria.
• Lead internal credit reviews risk audits policy updates and trustee reporting processes to maintain institutional grade governance standards within the investment team.

Required Experience
• Minimum 10 years experience in private credit investment risk commercial credit structured lending or funds management.
• Strong command of secured lending fundamentals covenant architecture valuation methodologies cashflow modelling feasibility analysis enforcement processes and legal documentation standards.
• Demonstrated capability leading investment credit processes with legal trustee and compliance stakeholders.
• In depth understanding of AFSL obligations wholesale investor eligibility AML/CTF controls investment governance and legal enforceability of credit structures.
• Exceptional analytical capability commercial judgment and ability to translate complex transactions into clear investment recommendations.
• Strong communication and investment writing skills with an institutional executive presence.
