About The Team & The Position
You will be part of a large Program leadership team on a significant transformation agenda which is a multi-divisional, multi-year and multi-initiative program to support and enable the safe and secure transformation occurring in the energy market.

Successful delivery of the program is a key AEMO priority. This program will sit alongside, and have dependencies with, other AEMO Major Programs of work related to Reform, Lifecycle, Cyber and Operations Programs.

The Vendor & Commercial Manager will work closely with other functions such as AEMO Procurement, Legal and Finance, and AEMO Digital to facilitate the timely selection and engagement of vendors in line with Program schedules and needs

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight of commercial and contractual functions across major projects.
  • Drive strategies to improve profitability, cost control, and value creation across diverse projects.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to commercial and project teams .
  • Ensure the successful execution of vendor contracts to support the Program through facilitating Procurement activity.
  • Efficiently work with team members within the Program and capability owner stakeholders of the Program (mostly in Operations and Digital), to appropriately structure RFx's, supporting materials and Description of Supplies/Statements of Work.
  • To ensure the contract between the vendor(s) and AEMO is fulfilled as per our set standards. To manage and maintain the commercial relationships
  • To ensure all contracts are delivered in alignment with AEMO's procurement processes and to mediate any issues or changes to the contract as raised by either party
  • Monitor and manage contract delivery performance against contractual deliverables in alignment with the contract KPI's.

Position Requirements
Skills & Experience:

  • E xtensive commercial & vendor management experience in large-scale critical infrastructure, or renewables projects.
  • Lead and manage end-to-end commercial and contract functions including procurement, risk management, claims, and dispute resolution .
  • Proven ability to lead negotiations and deliver positive outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Adept in Vendor Management/ Procurement. Commercial/finance acumen/or accreditation is essential.
  • Experience in the delivery of programs and projects within the I nformation Technology.
  • Experience in Energy / Utilities industry is highly regarded.

Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
Education/ Professional Certifications

  • Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience.
