About the role Join our dynamic Tech team in Melbourne as a Principal Developer API. This exceptional chance enables you to construct, innovate, and deploy new features for our API Platform. You will work with diverse teams, offering technical mentorship and hands-on assistance to smoothly transition APIs while enhancing the API platform capabilities.
As a subject matter expert, you will participate in technical design conversations, guarantee platform operations support, and enhance our Developer Portal experience. Apply your cloud infrastructure expertise to optimise and secure our Apigee environment while championing API governance standards.
The skills you'll need - Full-stack Developer experience with frontend and backend. - Proficiency in API Platform, including API proxies, shared flows, policies, and security measures. Experience with Apigee would be beneficial. - Solid working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Proficient knowledge of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code - Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, , Go).
Key Objectives Outcomes - Invent, develop, and implement new features and capabilities for our API Platform, improving its functionality and performance. - Collaborate with internal development teams, offering technical mentorship and hands-on support to onboard and migrate their APIs to the Apigee platform effectively. - Act as a subject matter expert for the API Platform, providing insights and solutions for complex API challenges, and contributing to technical build discussions. - Support in upholding the operational well-being, performance, security, and scalability of the API Platform, encompassing monitoring, resolving issues, and managing incidents. - Demonstrate your knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS beneficial) to manage, optimise, and secure the underlying infrastructure that supports our API environment. - Take charge of introducing and integrating DevOps principles and automation throughout the API platform lifecycle, encompassing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing. - Lead the improvement and maintenance of our Developer Portal, assisting in refining the experience for API consumers. - Promote and support the implementation of API governance standards, procedures, and detailed documentation for the platform and its APIs.
