We are seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Consultant to join a leading Energy Advisory team, delivering market analysis, forecasting, and strategic advisory services across Australia's energy transition.

Based ideally in Melbourne (with flexibility for the rest of Australia and NZ), this role offers the opportunity to shape policy, regulatory, and commercial outcomes for clients across the renewable energy and utilities sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver complex energy market advisory projects spanning forecasting, planning, and regulatory analysis.
  • Provide technical leadership on market modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic assignments for utilities, developers, and government clients.
  • Manage client relationships, develop proposals, and contribute to business growth.
  • Mentor junior consultants and help strengthen the capability of the Energy Advisory team.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders to influence market design, regulation, and policy development.
  • Support the continued expansion of the firm's market and grid advisory offering across Australia and New Zealand.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years' experience in energy market analysis, planning, or advisory within a developer, utility, regulator, or consultancy environment.
  • Strong understanding of NEM operations, market design, and renewable integration.
  • Proven track record in quantitative analysis, forecasting, and energy economics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage clients, lead teams, and win work in a consulting context.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, Energy Systems, or related discipline (postgraduate qualification in Energy or Finance desirable).
