Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Lanson Partners Full time

About the Company:

Our client is a large Australian infrastructure organisation that owns and operates essential, capital-intensive assets across multiple regions. The business plays a key role in supporting national infrastructure growth and operates within a regulated commercial environment, balancing investment, compliance, and financial performance.

About the Role:

This position sits within the Corporate Finance team, supporting the organisation's financial modelling, pricing, and regulatory analysis functions.

The Senior Associate will work with Finance, Strategy, and Commercial teams to develop complex financial models, analyse regulatory impacts, and support the company's long-term financial planning and submissions to external stakeholders.

It's a finance-driven analytical role, perfect for someone who enjoys data-heavy modelling, structured frameworks, and the intersection between corporate finance and regulated markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting pricing, investment, and long-term forecasts.
  • Analyse the financial impacts of capital and operating expenditure decisions under regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate across Finance, Strategy, and Technical teams to ensure modelling assumptions are accurate.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to test business assumptions and support decision-making.
  • Support periodic reviews and submissions to regulators and internal governance committees.
  • Contribute to the improvement of forecasting, pricing, and cost-allocation methodologies.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree-qualified in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Engineering.
  • Strong technical capability in Excel and financial modelling; Power Query, VBA, or data tools a plus.
  • 5–8 years' experience in finance, commercial analysis, or corporate modelling, ideally within asset-heavy or regulated industries (infrastructure, utilities, transport, energy, or water).
  • Exposure to regulated markets or pricing frameworks desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance principles such as DCF, WACC, NPV, and IRR.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain analytical work clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analytical, precise, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
