We're excited to introduce the Payroll Manager role, a position at the heart of Goodstart's commitment to excellence and care. In this role, you'll lead a dedicated team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for thousands of employees. Beyond processing pay runs, you'll drive best-practice standards, optimise systems, and create a seamless experience for every team member. Working closely with the Employee Services Manager, you'll champion continuous improvement, strengthen compliance, and ensure payroll operations reflect Goodstart's values of integrity, collaboration, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and inspire a talented payroll team to achieve excellence and meet critical deadlines.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and fortnightly cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Champion continuous improvement, automation, and system optimisation to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business, providing expert advice on payroll, superannuation, taxation, and HR administration.
  • Take ownership of risk management, audits, and internal controls, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
  • Play a key role in system upgrades and change management projects, shaping the future of payroll at Goodstart.

What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive experience managing high-volume, complex payroll operations for large organisations, including workforces of 5,000+ employees.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Expertise in payroll legislation, industrial instruments, and compliance frameworks.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll systems and a passion for optimising processes and driving change.
  • Proficient with SAP.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Pre-employment checks will be required, including a National Police Check, Working with Children Check, reference checks, work rights verification, and up-to-date immunisation record.
