
Clinical Project Manager

Centre for Health Services Research is seeking an experienced Clinical Project Manager to bring their project management and clinical trial expertise to the Australasian Kidney Trials Network (AKTN).
In this role, you will lead the development, initiation, and execution of assigned clinical projects, overseeing feasibility assessments, site selection and setup, service level agreements, and coordination with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure smooth trial delivery. You will also contribute to grant applications and strategic project planning.
Working closely with the Clinical Operations Manager, you will ensure successful delivery of AKTN clinical activities in line with local and regulatory requirements, meeting objectives for quality, timelines, and budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage project-level activities across AKTN trials, including timelines, budgets, resources, and collaborating sites, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Lead monitoring activities, oversee site performance, and ensure timely reporting and resolution of safety events in accordance with ethics and regulatory requirements.
Maintain effective project governance and ensure all research adheres to Good Clinical Practice, ethical standards, and legislative requirements.
Supervise and mentor junior research staff, fostering professional growth and supporting a high-performing trial team.
Prepare project reports, contribute to publications, support financial management, and maintain clear communication with investigators, collaborators, and stakeholders.
This is a full-time fixed-term position for up to 12 months at HEW Level 8.
About YouA postgraduate qualification in a scientific, medical or related discipline with significant clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
At least 2 years of proven project management experience working on clinical projects within an academic, CRO or pharmaceutical environment
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Highly developed communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation.
Working knowledge of, and the ability to implement project activities in accordance with, ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all applicable regulations
High level of personal motivation and initiative with the ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary research team
Desirable
Previous experience in the field of kidney research
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check and mandatory immunisations.
