Venue Manager / Licensee – Bar Broadway

Due to an internal promotion, Young Hotels Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Venue Manager / Licensee to lead operations at Bar Broadway.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role is an outstanding opportunity to join a renowned hospitality group that continues to expand.

About Us

Young Hotels is a dynamic hospitality group operating 6 hotels in Sydney and recently acquiring a seventh in the Riverina.  Bar Broadway is our late-night destination nestled in the heart of Sydney and popular student hangout.  It offers a lively atmosphere and diverse range of activities designed to appeal to a wide range of customers including live music, sports and pool.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Venue Manager / Licensee to lead the operations at Bar Broadway. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing all aspects of a late-night, multi-revenue venue including bar, gaming, TAB, accommodation, and events.

You will take full responsibility for business performance, compliance, and culture while ensuring that our customer experience is consistently outstanding, especially in our growing accommodation business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations across gaming, wagering, bar, bistro, and accommodation.
  • Ensure compliance with all licensing, RSA, RCG/ARCG, and WHS requirements.
  • Drive business performance through strong P&L management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team, creating a positive and proactive workplace.
  • Manage rostering, labour budgets, and weekly/monthly forecasting.
  • Oversee stock control, cash handling, and daily banking reconciliation.
  • Build strong community connections and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with police, licensing authorities, suppliers, and group management.
  • Take a hands-on approach to opening/closing procedures and floor leadership, including evenings and weekends.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' management experience in a busy licensed venue, with strong gaming knowledge.  Accommodation experience a bonus.
  • Strong leadership with a passion for the industry
  • Proven ability to manage P&L, budgets, and reporting.
  • Hands-on leader with excellent communication and people skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance, RSA/RCG/TAB operations, and incident management.
  • Current RSA, RCG, and the ability to hold a hoteliers licence (essential).
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high service standards.
  • Proven ability to drive business performance while maintaining compliance and a positive workplace culture
