Workplace Relations Partner

Play a vital role in providing both strategic and practical advice to our operations and line managers to address key operational matters, including Award interpretation, performance management, workplace investigations, workers compensation and employee health and safety.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer and joining a fantastic team of People, Learning and Talent Partners, this newly created role will take carriage of all key workplace relations activities, in particular ER, WHS and workers compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult and support managers and employees on workplace matters.
- Proactively address potential or active industrial relations issues and drive timely resolutions.
- Provide strategic advice on industrial relations risks and opportunities.
- Conduct and/or coordinate workplace investigations and manage grievance procedures.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex workplace investigation cases and managing intricate grievance procedures.
- Coordinate the development and review of employee related policies and procedures.
- Coach and train managers on policies, processes and industrial instruments.
- Participate in consultations and dispute resolutions.
- Review remuneration and operational practices for Award compliance.
- Oversight workers compensation matters working closely with our external claims manager and brokers.
- Be an active member of our WHS Committee to ensure that all systems and processes implemented are in alignment with committee recommendations and guidelines.
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business or similar.
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role including taking carriage of IR matters.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one.
- Australian work authorisation required at the time of application.
- Strong understanding of current employment legislation and HR practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all employment law including Fair Work Act, Awards, Agreements, WHS legislation, and related statutory requirements.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills across Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous NFP and/or NDIS experience.
- Experience managing workers compensation and return to work processes.
- Experience managing WHS programs and Committees.
- Power BI or Data analytics experience.
- Experience implementing HRIS software.
