The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Operator to join a successful, growing business The Warehouse Operator is responsible for assisting in the supply chain process, handling vendor and customer orders and interactions, adhering to safety regulations and checking all packages in and out for quality assurance.  If you are detail orientated, possess basic math skills and are physically fit, this is the role for you

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the running of an efficient warehouse that meets operational and customer demand as well as set targets
  • Label and package orders for dispatch as per order requests
  • Report stock availability issues to the Stock Controller for action
  • Check accuracy of pick and placing in the nominated area for inspection
  • Replenish and move stock to shelves as directed
  • Unload containers and manufacture items as instructed
  • Fulfil and book freight in Netsuite as require
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as required
  • Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately and participate in regular stock-takes
  • Ensure that all lifting and movement of products/materials is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures and hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment and comply with all health, safety and environmental regulations
  • Ensure that vehicles, machinery, and equipment is fit for purpose prior to use
  • Attend regular toolbox meetings, proactively contribute to lean implementation tasks and the team's development

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role/industry
  • Physically fit with the ability to move stock in adherence with OHS and manual handling techniques
  • A current unencumbered driver's and forklift licence
  • A deadline driven individual with effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • A strong communicator with well developed interpersonal and engagement skills
  • Proficient computer skills, in particular with Microsoft office
  • Experience with warehouse management systems will be highly regarded
